P Gopinath




P. Gopinath is an Indian artist who was born in 1948 in Ponnani, Kerala. He is a key proponent of the late Madras Movement and is known for his biomorphic abstract shapes and warm red and orange palette. His work has been featured in many galleries and museums, including Artworld Sarala's Art Centre. 

Gopinath is a founder member of Cholamanda Artists Village, Chennai, and the Secretary of Artists' Handicrafts Association. He began his artistic path with watercolors, which were influenced by K.C.S Paniker, and takes inspiration from regional culture.
